How to fix a power fault

It is important to consult a licensed electrician to resolve any dangerous electrical hazards. However, the following simple steps can often locate and resolve the cause of the problem:
1. Switch off the main power and all circuit breakers.
2. Unplug all appliances from power points
3. Switch on main power and all circuit breakers
4. Plug in all appliances one at a time, until the power trips
5. When the power trips switch off main power and all circuit breakers.
6. Unplug the last appliance that was plugged in
7. Turn on the main power and all circuit breakers. If the power stays on, the last appliance
is the cause of the fault.
8. If the power trips again repeat steps 1-7
